How the Strategy Planner Works

What the Planner Actually Does

The Flip Strategy Planner fetches live order-book data from the public Hypixel Bazaar API every 60 seconds, then runs a multi-factor scoring engine over every tradeable item. It calculates the net margin after the 1.125% sell tax, estimates how fast your orders will fill based on hourly volume, scores each item for risk, and then allocates your coins across the best-scoring items — respecting how much volume the market can absorb without moving prices against you.

How Coins Are Split Across Items

The engine uses a greedy allocation: it scores every item that passes your filters, ranks them, then assigns coins one item at a time. Each item's coin allocation is the minimum of: (a) your remaining investable coins, (b) your maximum percentage per item (default 30% of investable capital), and (c) the item's capacity — the maximum units you can safely trade per cycle without taking more than your chosen share of hourly volume.

If you see idle coins in the summary, it means the capacity or risk limits were hit before all coins were deployed. This is by design — deploying coins into thin markets is a common mistake that leads to failed fills and price-moved losses.

What the Risk Score Means

Each item's risk score (0–100, shown as Low / Medium / High) is a weighted average of six components:

  • Volume adequacy (25%): Is there enough weekly volume to fill your order in time?
  • Spread sanity (20%): Is the margin plausible, or suspiciously high (possible manipulation)?
  • Volatility (20%): How much has the sell price fluctuated in the last 12 hours of snapshots?
  • Competition (15%): How many other buy orders are competing at a similar price?
  • Manipulation flag (10%): Has the crash detector seen anomalous price moves with low volume?
  • Order-book thinness (10%): Is the sell-side order book shallow, increasing slippage risk?

What Fill Confidence Means

Fill confidence is an estimated probability that your buy order will fill within your chosen re-list window. It is derived from how much of the market's volume your order size represents, adjusted for the risk score. It is always labelled "estimated" and never a guarantee. It is directional guidance only — actual fill rates depend on other players' behaviour, which can change unpredictably.

Why Capacity Limits Matter

Placing a buy order for 10% of a day's volume is fine. Placing one for 80% means you're the dominant buyer for that item — the market may not supply that many units in time, and anyone watching the order book will undercut you. The planner's capacity cap (default 7.5% of hourly volume per cycle) is conservative by design. Advanced mode lets you adjust this if you understand the trade-off.

Glossary

MarginThe coin profit per item after sell tax: (sell price × (1 − 1.125%)) − buy price. Expressed as a percentage of the buy price.
SpreadThe gap between the best sell offer and the best buy order. A larger spread usually means more profit opportunity, but also potentially less liquidity.
VolumeThe number of items traded per week (the Bazaar API provides a 7-day moving total). Higher volume = orders fill faster.
TaxHypixel charges 1.125% of the sell price when you collect coins from a sell offer. The planner always deducts this before calculating profit.
Buy OrderA patient order: you name your price and wait for a seller to accept it. Typically earns the full spread minus tax.
Instant BuyBuy at the lowest current sell offer — fills immediately, but you pay the full ask price, eating into the margin.
CapacityThe maximum units you should trade per cycle to avoid moving the market. Calculated as: hourly volume × your max share % × re-list frequency in hours.
ManipulationWhen a player (or group) temporarily buys up supply to inflate the sell price, then dumps. The crash detector flags items where price moved ≥15% in 30 minutes with volume well below its average.
Fill ConfidenceEstimated probability (0–100%) that your order fills in your re-list window. Always an estimate — not a guarantee.

FAQ — Bazaar Flipping Questions

How much coin do I need to start bazaar flipping?

You can start with as little as 50,000–100,000 coins, though 500k–1m gives you more item choices and better margins. The Planner's Beginner preset is designed for exactly this range. With 50k you'll likely be limited to one or two items with very high volume and low per-unit margin, which is still a fine place to learn.

What is a safe margin for bazaar flipping?

After the 1.125% sell tax, a margin of 2–5% is considered safe and sustainable for high-volume items. Margins above 15–20% are a yellow flag — they may be legitimate on niche items with low volume, but they can also signal manipulation or stale order books. The Planner's risk score will flag these for you.

Why doesn't the planner use all my coins?

The planner caps how many units you buy per item based on the market's hourly volume. Buying too much of one item moves the price against you and risks a failed fill. If you see idle coins, it means there isn't enough safe volume at current settings. Try increasing the max volume share (Advanced mode) or switching to a higher risk tolerance.

How accurate are the profit estimates?

Estimates are based on a live Bazaar API snapshot refreshed every 60 seconds. They are as accurate as that snapshot allows. However, prices change constantly and your fill price may differ from the snapshot price. Fill confidence is labelled "estimated" throughout. Use figures as directional guidance, not precise predictions.

What is fill confidence?

Fill confidence is an estimated probability (0–100%) that your buy order fills within your chosen re-list window. It's derived from the volume/order-size ratio, adjusted for risk. It's always an estimate — actual fill rates depend on other players.

Can I use this on mobile?

Yes. On small screens the plan displays as item cards instead of a table. All features work on mobile, though the Advanced mode's sliders are easier to use on a wider screen.

How do I share my plan?
